- Making a successful career pivot requires preparation and execution. A key component is the interview, which gives you the chance to showcase your skills, experience, and fit for the role. Here are five tips to help you ace your interviews. First, research. Understand the company, those role hiring requirements, and the interviewers to tailor your responses, demonstrate preparedness, and build stronger connections. Second, anticipate questions. Prepare for common questions such as, tell me about yourself? Why this company? Why this role? Why you? Along with common behavior questions that test how you handle challenges, conflict, or change. Be clear and concise with your responses. Third, practice. Rehearse your answers with a friend or family member and record yourself, assess your delivery, tone, and body language. Speak with clarity and structure to help your interviewer understand and to take better notes. Fourth, connect the dots.
