How to make a transparent to-do list to avoid stress
- Every single person I talk to that has burnout usually has this one thing in common. They're not transparent with their to-do list. I know, it seems crazy. You think, it's my to-do list, why do I have to share it with anybody else? But when you're transparent about your to-do list with coworkers, colleagues, friends and family, they can see exactly what's on your plate. For example, a colleague might be thinking about shooting you an email asking for a small favor. They don't know what's already on your plate therefore they don't know how close to burnout you actually are. So they send the email and think nothing of it. If you shared your to-do list with that same person, they might look at it and go, "wow, I can't ask for this favor, they're drownding" and then they do that small task by themselves. You have no idea how much this happens at work and at home until you start sharing your to-do list with those around you. It's a small tip but sharing your to-do list can lead to a lot less burnout.
