Customizing the launch templates
- [Instructor] So the next thing that I want to take a look at is the launch template. The launch template controls what happens when you actually launch a virtual machine instance based on the data that has been replicated. Remember, we're replicating the virtual machines from your on-premises environment and then once the replication has completed, you can launch a virtual machine instance in the Amazon Cloud based on that replicated data. So I'm going to go ahead and click on launch template and you can see the various settings here. So the very first setting is instance type right sizing, and I strongly recommend leaving this set to on so that that way AWS is able to pick the right instance size based on the size of the virtual machine that you're replicating. Then there's a setting for start instance upon launch. That's set to yes, so that the instance will boot up automatically. Copy private IP is set to no.
