The key concepts of Microsoft Security Copilot
- [Instructor] Microsoft Security Copilot is an AI-powered solution for security analysis. Let's begin by understanding some key concepts of Security Copilot. First, a user submits a prompt to Copilot. A prompt is an instruction or a request written in natural language. For example, summarize the vulnerability linked to CVE ID 2024 49039. CVE stands for common vulnerabilities and the exposures. After processing the prompt, Copilot generates a response and send the composed message back to the user. A session is like a conversation between a user and a Copilot. It includes several rounds of prompts and responses focused on a topic, like analyzing a vulnerability. Copilot can keep track of the session context and use it in the prompt processing. For example, if you ask Copilot to summarize the vulnerability, CVE 2024 49039, Copilot will remember that CVEID during any follow-up interactions within the session. Another key concept is plugins. To expand the power of Security Copilot, it needs to integrate with the various services and the data sources. Plugins offer a standardized and convenient way to do this. Through plugins, you can access various capabilities provided by Microsoft Security Solutions, third party tools, and your custom services. You can think of a capability as a scale or function that helps you perform a task.
