Azure AD supports various authentication methods to help improve and secure sign-in events. The following are authentication methods that are available in Azure AD. Password-based authentication. Azure AD supports password-based authentication, which involves the verification of a username and a password. Self-service password reset. Azure AD provides self-service password reset capabilities that allow users to update or change their passwords using a web browser from any device.
