Create a milestone task

- [Instructor] Milestones are a great way to show key points in a project. Like progress, decisions, or the trigger for a payment. Milestones are easy to create and they don't have durations so you can add as many as you need. So let's say that we want to add a milestone to show when the requirements are done. To do that, I am going to click the row where I want the milestone to go. That's the summary task Choose New Location. Then on the Task tab, head over to the Insert section and click the icon to Insert a Milestone. That adds a new row with my milestone task. The task name cell is selected so I can type in the name of the milestone. Requirements Approved. Notice when I tab into the duration cell, the duration is zero days. With no duration, a milestone doesn't affect the length of your project. It doesn't affect work hours, and it doesn't affect your resources time. In the time scale, it's not a task bar, it's a diamond. So these dark gray diamonds are the indication that a task…
