Use reference lines, error bars, and forecasting
- [Instructor] In this sub-lesson, we're going to use reference lines, error bars, and forecasting. So first off, let's talk about reference lines. You can add reference lines to visuals and provide focus for important trends or insights. They can be found in the analytics pane and powered by Desktop and Service. But keep in mind not all visuals support reference lines. Available reference lines include trend, X-axis and Y-axis constant lines, min and max lines, average, median, percentile, and symmetry shading. Error bars can be added to line charts. You can specify upper and lower bounds to the values under line chart and customize the way uncertainty is visualized. With error bars, we add upper and lower bound fields and indicate how the upper and lower bounds relate to the measure. We can set absolute, which means that fields contain the exact value of the upper or lower bound, or we can choose relative, which means that the field contains the difference between the upper or lower…
