Implement role-playing dimensions
- [Instructor] Alright, so in this sub lesson we are going to implement role-playing dimensions. So what is a role-playing dimension? A role-playing dimension is a dimension table to can play multiple roles. So for example, a single date can represent multiple things. In the adventure works sales model we have order date, ship date, and due date in the model. We're going to show you here momentarily. So with that, let's move over to the Power BI desktop. Okay, so I am on the Power BI desktop here in the model view and I can see I've got an internet sales fact table here and a date dimension table here, a single date table. And there are three lines drawn between the date table and internet sales. One solid the line which indicates this is an active relationship between the date key and order date. A dotted line indicated, and this is an inactive relationship between date key and ship date and a second dotted line between the date key and the due date. So the three different roles that…
