Configure subscriptions and data alerts
- [Instructor] In this sub-lesson, we will configure subscriptions and data alerts. So first off, what are subscriptions? Subscriptions allow you to have Power BI email a snapshot of data to your inbox. When you receive the email, it includes a link to go to the report or dashboard. On mobile devices with Power BI apps installed, selecting this link launches the app. So how do you configure subscriptions? You can tell Power BI how often you want to receive the emails, be it daily, weekly, or when the data refreshes. You can even set a specific time for Power BI to send the emails, or have it run immediately. In all, you can set up to 24 different subscriptions per report or dashboard. Some limitations and considerations. To create a subscription for yourself, you need permissions to access a particular report or dashboard, and either a Power BI Pro or Premium Per User license or access to workspace backed by Power BI Premium capacity.
