Configure retention label policies (publish/autoapply)
After creating retention labels, we need to make them available. So this is exactly like our sensitive information types or our SITs. After we've made the label, no one can use it until it's been published. There are a couple of approaches to doing this. The first approach is to publish labels for manual use by users. So I will show you how to do this in a second, but you can publish one or more labels to the policy. And then when they've been published to particular locations, so it doesn't have to be everywhere. It could just be Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, et cetera. You can also scope it to specific users or sites. And then published users will become visible to users in Office. So rather than me talk you through it, let's have a look at how that works. So here we are, we're going to publish a label. As you see at the moment, I have a very clean retention label policy.
