- [Instructor] Sensitivity labels are used to classify email messages, documents, sites, and more. When a label is applied, automatically or manually by the user, the content or site which is applied on is protected based on the settings you choose. How do you create a sensitivity label? On the Microsoft Purview page, scroll down. I'm going to take us back so that we can see how I got here. Expand Information protection, and you can check the Overview to see what you have on the Information protection page. You can see a summary of sensitivity labels, activity detected, and more. Then go on to Label to create a new sensitivity label. I have some already created labels on my environment. However, click on Create a label to create a new sensitivity label.
