Creating custom SharePoint views
- [Instructor] I think that SharePoint is a terrific way to share pertinent information to different audiences. SharePoint custom views let you create displays on only the necessary information and make them available from multiple places within a site. Of course there is some setup involved, but it's honestly not that difficult. Let's start with this list. Now you can sort or filter the list like you can a worksheet in Excel although I actually think it's easier in SharePoint. You can click any column header to get options or use the filter pane to get more involved. But let's say that I only want to see sales in the Northwest region by salesmen in reverse alphabetical order and I want subtotals for the salesmen with a combined total for the region. That sounds like a lot, but let's see how easy this is to do. We're currently looking at the all items view. If I click, you can see all items, yes, all items are there.…
