Azure Backup for VMs
When you start using Azure, especially for virtual machines, the chances are you're going to want to back them up. Of course, there's lots of third party backup services out there, but luckily Azure has its own built in backup facilities. For backing up virtual machines, there is the Recovery Services vault and the Recovery Services vault actually covers two elements. First, it covers Azure Backups and it also covers Site Recovery. In this lesson, we're just going to look at backup. There are a couple of elements we can configure within a backup vault when we create them. The first is we can create backup policies, and backup policies will define how often you can back something up. We can see that there are two by default that get created, a DefaultPolicy and HourlyLogBackup.
