- [Instructor] We've talked a lot about general cloud concepts up to this point. In module two, we're going to start getting into some specifics of Microsoft Azure architecture and services, and we'll start that journey with Azure regions and region pairs. Actually, before we talk about regions and region pairs, let's first talk about geographies. Microsoft has divided Azure into boundaries called geographies, and it likely won't surprise you to hear that these boundaries are often defined using the borders of countries but not always. Some geographies, for example, the Europe geography, are defined by continental borders. Now, whether a geography is defined by a country, a continent, or something else, they're all defined for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulations that exist in certain parts of the world.
