- Welcome back, this is lesson 13.4, recommend a testing procedure for a high availability and disaster recovery solution. You figured out what high availability and disaster recovery solution you want to implement, and you've got it all planned out. But does your plan include a testing process? Of your entire plan, the testing process is the most critical. Your testing process is a checklist, an item of things to review and test before flipping the switch. What should this list include? We'll discuss these items in terms of the solution, starting with failovers and for failovers, I'm including geo replication, Azure SQL database fill over groups, and always on availability groups. A lot of these things we're going to talk about apply to all three of these. If you're using active geo replication or geo restore, you need to make sure that the connectivity to the new database is set so any applications can connect.
