- Welcome back, this is lesson 7.5, Monitor by using Database Watcher. Before we get into SQL Database Watcher, I want to point out that at the time of this recording, SQL Database Watcher is in preview, so anything I mention here could change. So with that, let's start talking about Database Watcher. Database Watcher is a fully managed monitoring solution for Azure SQL database and Azure SQL Managed Instance. Its strength comes from its ability to collect in-depth workload monitoring data to provide a detailed view of your database performance, configuration, and overall health. The Database Watcher includes a great number of dashboards in the Azure Portal, which provide a single pane of glass insight into your Azure SQL estate of SQL databases, managed instances, and elastic pools.
