Managing and tracking costs
- [Presenter] In this lecture, we're going to look at cost management. So Azure is a pay as you go service, and when we create a subscription, you give it credit card details or you need an enterprise subscription with Microsoft. But either way, because Azure is so powerful, it's easily possible to overspend. For example, people might spin up resources or services that you are not aware of that could have a high price associated with them. So keeping on top of your costs is extremely important. If we go to our subscriptions tab and see a list of our subscriptions, you get to see even from here the current cost of your subscription. But if we go into the subscription itself, down the left hand side, we've got the cost management section. The first thing we can do is go to cost analysis and from here we get an immediate overview of how much it's costing us, what components are costing us that bit of money and it also provides us a forecast so that we get a very good idea of how much we…
