- [Instructor] There are a number of different deployment methods that you can use. Windows Autopilot, Subscription Activation, Entra ID join with Automatic MDM Enrollment, using provisioning packages, performing bare-metal imaging, performing refresh, sometimes known as wipe and load deployments, performing in-place upgrades, and performing replace device activities. Traditional deployment requires a significant upfront investment in on-premise infrastructure. You start perhaps by purchasing your new device, or devices, you wipe those devices, removing any of the existing operating systems. You apply a custom image that you will have needed to create and maintain to all of the new devices. You then join the devices to Active Directory, configure your devices using Group Policy Objects, and finally deploy and manage apps by using Configuration Manager.
