- [Instructor] Application Control enables you to determine which apps your users are allowed to run. And this is important because if users are allowed to run any apps, it's a possibility they may run inadvertently unsafe apps. Application Control works by blocking any unsigned apps and scripts. To use, you create and configure policies. A policy typically includes rules that control options, such as whether audit mode is enabled, determine whether User Mode Code Integrity is enabled, specify the level at which apps are identified and or trusted. There are a number of ways of ensuring that your apps are signed and therefore permitted to run. The first is to publish your apps by using the Microsoft Store. Alternatively, you can use your own digital certificate or public key infrastructure. You can use a non-Microsoft Certificate Authority.
