Add a Formula column to an Excel worksheet table with Copilot
When you're working with data in a table and you need a little assistance with suggesting formulas that may work well for that data, Copilot can help. We're gonna start by selecting a cell within the table on the worksheet. Then we'll go to the Home tab and within that ribbon, select Copilot. The Copilot chat pane appears here on the right. And before we give our instruction to Copilot, let's make sure that this mode is set to Allow Editing, which means that Copilot can make changes to this worksheet on my behalf. All right, now we have a custom prompt that we're gonna enter here, or instruction that we'll enter here. Before we do that, though, if we move down here to the bottom, we have a few suggested prompts. Add a formula column to this table. Apply conditional formatting. Summarize using pivot table or charts. You may see different suggestions than me, and that's okay. And what we're going to do is we're going to ask Copilot to suggest a formula column.
