- [Instructor] In most of this course, we talked about choosing between two or more applications that handle similar tasks. But in this video I want to talk about one application, Microsoft Word, an application that is known for one very specific task but is capable of much more than some people know. If you just launch Word and go into the option to make a new document, you can tell from the bundle templates that Word is capable of creating and editing lots of different types of documents. I'll look at a few documents that I already have. Of course, when you think of Word, you probably think of documents like letters or resumes. These are documents that consist mainly of text. Of course, you can apply lots of formatting to that text. But Word documents can also support other media. You may know that you can include pictures along with lots of formatting options.
