- [Narrator] So as a test, let's look at this frequency response graph. We can tell that it's very, very flat, from the low end to the high end. There's a bump of a dB or two here across from five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10k rolls off, up at 20 kilohertz. But it has a very flat frequency response. This is characteristic of a condenser microphone. And this is, in fact, the Rode NT-1 condenser microphone. Let's look at this frequency response graph. It tells us a lot about this microphone. First of all, we should notice this peak that's centered on four k. We should expect a peak like that to give us understandability if it were in a vocal application, but we also can expect that it would emphasize the attack component, but it's an equalized attack. Which would probably indicate that this microphone is a dynamic microphone. This frequency response graph is not characteristic of a condenser microphone or a ribbon microphone.
