Adding orthographic cameras
- Because of Maya's very flexible system of cameras, we can create as many orthographic views that we want and orient them in any way that we want. By default, we have a top, front, and side view. In this scene, I've used the drawing overrides to color code those orthographic cameras in order to correspond with their line of sight. In other words, I've got red corresponding to the X axis, and that is the side view, as we can see here. I've got green corresponding to the Y axis. That's the top view. And blue corresponding to the Z axis. That's the front view. I want another view from the other side. So I want to create either a left or right view. To analyze this, we can figure out what the existing side view is. So that side view is pointing in the negative X direction. And from the top view, that means it's pointing towards the left. That means it's going to see the right sides of objects. So this is actually a right view…
