Projecting UV maps

- [Instructor] When you work with textures, you have to tell Maya exactly how those textures are mapped to your objects. And this is called UV mapping. So let's go through some real simple UV mappings and place a texture on this character's head. So the first thing I want to do is just create a material. So I'm going to go ahead and right-click, Assign Favorite Material, OpenPBR Surface. And in the color channel, I'm going to add a file. And then under sourceimages, you should see one called Face.jpg. Open that up. And, well, this is not mapped anywhere close to what I want, but we can change that. So if we go into our Modeling menu, we have UV. I'm going to go ahead and tear off this, and there's a whole bunch of stuff in here, but the ones we're going to work with are Cylindrical, Planar, and Spherical.
