Manipulating pivots
- [Instructor] When we rotate and scale objects, the pivot point of those objects can be important. So let's take a look at pivots on this character. We're going to start with the arms here. So I've got the right arm, I'm going to select that, and then I'm going to go into my rotate tool. I'm going to double click on that, make sure I'm in object mode there. And as you can see, this rotates as expected. There's an implied pivot point somewhere in that shoulder. And the same for the claws. They're rotating basically around a pivot point here in the hand. Now the left side is not set up properly. So if I select this one and rotate it, notice how it's not rotating where I want it to be. And that's because this pivot point is located here. In fact, if I go into my move tool by hitting W, you can see that a little bit better. So my move tool is somewhere in the middle of that arm, and I want it to be more towards the shoulder. Well, we can change that very easily by holding down the D key.…
