- [Instructor] Booleans is another way to model in Maya. Now Booleans allow you to add, subtract, and intersect polygonal objects. So let's take a look at how they work. We can find them in the modeling menu under mesh. Now under Booleans, you'll see we have a number of options. I'm going to go ahead and turn them off. We're going to look at some of the basic options under Boolean. So we're going to start off with union. So I need to select an object and then drag it over. So I'm going to select this cylinder, drag it over to the box, and then I'm going to shift select both of these so we have both of them selected. And then I'm just going to select union. Now what that does is it creates a fourth surface here. So we've got the three original surfaces, and then we have this one called polysurface one. Now if I were to drag this off, you'll see that I have the original cube and cylinder, but they're kind of ghosted. So they're kind of invisible right now, but they are still live. So if…
