Using the Extrude tools
- [Instructor] When we model, we may need to add additional detail to our primitives, and one of the easiest ways to do this is to use what's called the extrude tool. So I've got this engine pod here and let's go ahead and use extrude. So typically we use extrude on faces. So I'm going to select some faces here. So I'm going to right click, in my marking menu select face, and then I'm going to shift select these faces here. So I've got about eight faces selected and then we can do our extrude from a couple of places. If we're in the modeling menu set we can go to edit mesh extrude. The hot key that is Ctrl E. If you're in the modeling toolkit, we also have an extrude as well, but typically I like to use the hot key. So I'm going to hit Ctrl E and that starts my extrude. Now, what I get here is I get this gizmo that allows me to control the extrude as well as this dialogue box that controls it as well. So I can…
