- In this lesson, I'll show you a few tips for analyzing your data for better business outcomes and insights so that you can begin to identify patterns and trends and begin to identify correlations and relationships as well. The first step is to reground yourself. What is it that you want to know and what is it that you hope to achieve from your market research? For example, if you want to know how customers feel about a new product line, you would want to frame up your questions and your direction of your analyses with that in mind. Once you've re-grounded yourself in what it is that you hope to achieve, you'll want to take a high level view of your data, and you can do this by calculating some basic statistics, like mean, median, mode. Look for any outliers in the data, and this is really going to help you start to take the first steps in identifying any patterns or trends that might emerge.
