Masking your text
- We can use text and shapes to mask a video and or text. What this does is that we can create some cool effects that will bring attention to our text and graphics. Let's go through it. Let's go ahead and open the sequence named 2.3 masking. So sequences chapter two, 2.3 masking and now let's place our play head on top of this title. Let's go ahead and play a little bit of the sequence, a little bit before the title so that you see what's happening here. (soft music plays) You can see that the text was masked by something and then it appeared. Let's see a little bit on how this was done and then we'll do it. Place your play head on top of the text and select this top text. Notice that we have a shape that is above the text and that shape itself is being animated right here in the effect controls panel. Also notice the mask icon that is to the left of the word shape one. The bottom one only has the shape. Let's go…
