- Do you know why clients would buy your consultancy service over other businesses' if you all had the same offering? If we take away your unique services and your relationships, there is one key tool in your consultancy toolkit that can make your business stand out. Let's look at how. One key differentiation is your purpose and your positioning as a business. People buy into why you are in business over and above buying the services they need to get ahead. Some consultancies articulate a single short positioning statement. In Simon Sinek's "Find Your Why," looking at your overall purpose, both personally and for teams, it boils down to, "To," the contribution the organization makes, "so that," the impact or effect that that contribution has on others." For me, that would be, "To lead change in digital transformation so that large complex organizations are better equipped to make positive change in the world."
