- [Instructor] Carmen's Bakery wants to increase their weekly revenue from $2,500 to $3,250. The sales team had a new initiative that can help move closer to this target. In this video, we're going to consider the impact on the operations department. Operations, being the team in charge of stocking the baked goods for sales, as well as baking the goods, may be impacted by the sales initiative. Let's say the sales team wanted to sell 50 more croissants in a week. Without operations having produced 50 more croissants a week, this wouldn't be possible. When operations got the news, they quickly jumped into a meeting to understand what they needed to do on their side. They currently tracked the following metrics. Number of sellable baked goods. Customer satisfaction rate. Number of defective baked goods, these were the goods that had mistakes or were unappealing. Number of surplus baked goods, the unused quantity of baked goods at close.
