- [Instructor] By now, you know designing a survey is more than just slapping some questions together. So far, we've been talking about what to ask though. Now, we get to focus on how to ask it. So in this video, we'll cover three specific elements of survey design, question wording, flow, and layout. Let's start with question wording. Keeping it clear and simple is absolutely key. So first up, clarity. Keep questions short and focused. Long, wordy sentences lead to fatigue, so break complex ideas into smaller pieces and keep the jargon out. Next, keep the language neutral. Avoid bias by looking closely for leading questions. Edit a question like, "How much do you love this product?" to something more neutral, like, "How would you rate your satisfaction?" It's a simple tweak that makes a big difference and steer clear of negatives. I saw a question recently that went like this, "Do you disagree that our product is ineffective?" I mean, what?
