- In job descriptions, the degree requirement is essentially a check-off for the human resources staff that you have the minimum education needed for that position. If that's the case, how can you better reflect the skills and knowledge that you've gained in your coursework and activities? Listing course names is not effective, because more often than not, the name is long, and academic activities often aren't written in a way that is transferrable. To better reflect your fit with a job, you'll want to build detailed descriptions of each course that you took to fill your gaps in skills and knowledge.
