Bounce back after a difficult moment

Some moments are just more difficult than others. Maybe you got into it with a coworker. Maybe something didn't go as planned and it rattled you. The shift isn't over, but your head's not in the game anymore. In production roles, you've got to know how to bounce back. It's not about ignoring what happened, it's about giving yourself a way to reset so that one moment doesn't ruin the rest of your day. First, step away for a second, if you can. Take a few deep breaths, stretch, splash water on your face. Even 60 seconds of space can make a big difference in your mindset. Taking the time to reset your mindset after a tough moment allows you to clear your head. Take emotion out of the situation and focus on keeping the work moving forward. Next, shift the story in your head. Instead of repeating “What made you mad?” ask, “What's my next move?” Replaying the moment won't fix it, but focusing on how you want to show up next will help keep you moving.
