- [Instructor] The App Store is not the only way to install new software. You can also install an application that you download from the web or from an installation disc, and these two options are nearly the same because of something called a disc image. I'm here on the webpage for Google Chrome. This is a program that I can install, and it's fairly standard to see a button like this on a webpage where you can click and download an application. I'll click that now. And generally, when you download something like this from the web, it will be saved in your downloads folder. It's a good idea to click this downloads button near the top right in Safari to confirm that the download is finished. Then we can go to the downloads folder. Just to get it out of the way, I'm going to quit Safari, but you don't have to. Then I'll go over to Finder and I'll use the shortcut to go to my downloads folder, and I can see the file that we…
