- [Instructor] When we create histograms in Excel or R we'll see the bins automatically set up for us. We can change the bin size and specifically there are two types of binning, right here we see binning with equal widths for we see the intervals between each of the values on the X axis are the same but the frequency differs based on the number of occurrences for each of the temperatures. If we choose instead to use equal frequency binning we can see the counts for all the bins is the same because we're putting the same number of items in each bin even if the distributions between bins differ drastically. We can change the actual widths of the bins to account for this. We're going to focus on the equal width bins which show differing frequencies on the Y axis. But I think it's helpful to understand the difference between equal width and equal frequency and understanding potential analysis for data distributions. In Excel…
