- [Instructor] Artificial intelligence, or AI, as it's commonly called, is when we use computer algorithms to replicate human decision-making to predict future outcomes on new data based on previous known outcomes on existing data. Examples of AI algorithms in the real world include image recognition for passport controls, for example, natural language processing or NLP for dictation applications, like Siri or Alexis, and sensors for cars to keep drivers safe on the road. Machine learning is a type of AI algorithm that includes feedback loops intended to improve the performance of the algorithm over time as more data gets added to the model. Through added experience of accruing more data, these algorithms can learn from the new data points to better predict outcomes in the future.
