Challenge: What is causing what?
(upbeat music) - [Instructor] Okay, we've come to our first challenge. The idea of challenge and solution is to give you a chance to interact with some data, apply some of the concepts, and experiment with what we've been talking about. So I've provided a data set that I'm sure that you'll find interesting. It's called PSAT_causality. It's actual data from a research project some years ago. It has preliminary SAT scores, the college entrance test, along with things like class rank, whether or not they took honors classes, and it even has a learning style indicator in the form of sensing and intuition. If you take a look at the data description, there's some brief descriptions of the variables to help you out. So here's the challenge. Find where the stronger correlations appear to be and try to develop a brief narrative around what you believe is causing what. You don't want to do anything elaborate at this stage.…
