- There is an expectation of order incumbent on designers attempting to clarify an identity. If we digitally create a perfect circle, there's little message to it. But if we draw that same circle by hand and a bit askew, it begs the question, why? If I draw a perfect rectangle and tip it two degrees off-kilter, I assure you that that minute tip will stick out like the long pole in a tent. Imperfection gnaws at the sensibilities of consumers. But even in chaos, there is order. Utilizing perfected shapes in a random order even incites the viewer more deeply. Each of the sticks in this mark for The Nest are perfectly straight line segments that if lined up in parallel harmony wouldn't elicit a second look. But we find order in our chaos and we appreciate the attributes of a clever bird and their mastery at feathering a home out of random twigs and flotsam.
