- Here's how we can apply a spatter effect to our type through the use of an opacity mask in Illustrator. But we are also going to be calling on the help of Photoshop for this because we first need to create a spatter texture and this we'll be doing with a brush in Photoshop. So in Photoshop, I'll choose my brush tool and I'll come and choose a brush, the brush that I'm using "Kyle's Ink Box Spatter One", although many of these other ones would do just as well, is from "Kyle Webster's Megapack", which if you don't have you can download it's free, if you go to the Creative Cloud app and come to marketplace type in "Mega pack" and then you can follow the link to the website from where you can download these very, very useful brushes. So now on an empty canvas, adjust your brush size as necessary - left square bracket, smaller, right square bracket, bigger - and just add in some spatter. I've already done that, and here is my…
