Style guides tend to intimidate a lot of designers. That's mainly because we tend to think of those huge tomes that large branding agencies love to create and showcases their own proprietary process. From my experience, most of them are over complicated and like most long winded publications are mostly ignored anyway, Depending on the size of the business I'm working with will determine how complex or simplified a brand style guide needs to be. So let me show you how I deliver style guides to my own clients. Now, this first one is just a one page simplified style guide. This was just a small business owner who had a pest control business called Heartland Pest Control. This was the brand I created for him. I gave him a vertical, a horizontal. and black and white and I just set up simple files and this is all he needed.
