Brand character
- [Instructor] A brand character can be a primary brand asset like it is with Oregon Wild, but most often, it's a secondary brand asset that reinforces the primary, and helps engage with the company, a product, or a service's audience. So, let's review what a brand character is, how I created the Oregon Wild brand character, and review what type of companies benefit from using a brand character in their overall brand system. Now, one thing I want to point out is when you're developing a brand character, this is what I would call a quintessential illustrative design. What do I mean by that term? Well, if you think of the Target brand mark, all these are is elliptical shapes, and you could create this Target logo in about 30 seconds using the elliptical tool in Illustrator, but if you look at the Starbucks brand mark, you know at some point in the creative process, they had to work out a drawing to figure out what to create in vector form.
