- Having bad weather can really break your production, so the more prepared you can be if your shoot is weather-dependent, the better. Check the weather forecasts. If you're shooting in an area maybe that you're not familiar with, see what kind of weather and environment that they normally have in that season or that time of year you're trying to shoot. I always try to have a backup location if the shoot is outdoors, or have a game plan if all of a sudden, it's snowing or raining during our shoot. You also need to think about where are you going to stage gear. Even if it's sunny outside, you don't want your gear getting hot and overheated, so you want to make sure you have coverage to cover that. So not even just rain, even if it's a sunny, beautiful day outside, you still need to provide coverage for your crew.
