Let's start with documentation practices for Linux upgrades and patches, and the first one we will talk about is record keeping. Make sure to maintain detailed records of all updates, including the time, date, and the nature of each update or patch. Tools like Confluence or DokuWiki can be used to keep the records. Then configuration files. Keep a version control repository of all the configuration files. Use tools like Git to track changes and maintain a history of configuration. This helps in rolling back to previous configuration if an update causes issues. The next one is a system state snapshots.
