Linux network configuration
- [Instructor] Networking is a foundational component of modern systems, and when we're using Linux systems, there are many tools we should be familiar with in order to configure networking. Because there's no single tool or set of tools that are used on all Linux distributions, as there are on Windows and Mac OS systems, in this LinkedIn Learning course, we'll survey the most widely-used network configuration tools, ranging from legacy tools to modern tools. The goal is to help you become more familiar with all of them so when you come across them in the real world, you'll be ready to use them. For this reason, we won't dive into the deep technical details. Rather, we'll survey many tools to provide you a foundation from which to extend your learning. We'll explore setting up ethernet and wifi connections, setting static and dynamic IP addresses, and configuring DNS settings so our systems can resolve host names and domain names, and we'll take a look at configuring common firewall software used on client systems. Let's go.
