Hello, and welcome to Cybrary's Hardening Linux course. This lesson covers recommendations. I'm your instructor, Corey Holzer. In this lesson, I will bring all the pieces together and give you more information about best practices for providing your organization with more secure workstations and servers. When you're building a newer, more secure network for your users, it is important for you to build and test the new baseline operating system and services. To this end, I would recommend using a virtual environment at first. In this way, you can test and possibly break your OS and recover with ease. Now, maybe you got a queasy feeling in your stomach when I said the word break, but let me be frank here for a moment. It is better to break some element of your system in the virtual environment during this step, before providing into your users or your IT staff.
