Preparing your workstation
- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to create a guest virtual machine using Oracle VM VirtualBox, the virtualization project we're using to manage your private development server. By the end of the chapter, we'll have a running Linux server ready to be configured. Let's start by preparing your workstation to host the server. The first step is to download and install VirtualBox. This course uses version 5.1.22 which at the time of this recording is the most current version. Historically, this course is for it's compatible with newer versions, so they should work without issue. On the download page, you'll see the term host. This refers to your current operating system. From a browser, go to VirtualBox.org/wiki/Downloads. At the top under VirtualBox binaries, choose the host that matches your operating system, Windows or Mac.
