Installing MATE
- The MATE Desktop is a fork of GNOME 2. Anyone that's used GNOME 2 in the past will feel right at home with MATE. To get the name of the group to install, open a terminal and type sudo dnf group list -v and hit enter and enter your password when prompted. Now, scroll up until you see available environment groups. You should now see a MATE Desktop environment group. This is what we'll install. To install it, type in sudo dnf group install mate-desktop-environment and hit enter. Say yes when prompted and hit enter again. MATE Desktop may take a few minutes to install depending on your network connection. There is another group of software called MATE Applications that you can go back and install if you decide to keep using MATE. I will skip it for now.
