- [Instructor] On-site renewable energy, such as solar and wind power, reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and minimizes greenhouse emissions that contribute to global warming. LEED credit renewable energy production requires on-site renewable energy systems that supply a percentage of the building's total annual energy consumption by cost. On-site renewable energy sources that are eligible for LEED points include biofuel with the exception of a few types. For example, combustion of municipal solid waste is not eligible. Wave and tidal energy, wind, low-impact hydroelectricity, geothermal, and photovoltaic and solar thermal applications. You need to all eligible renewable energy sources for the exam.
