- [Instructor] The LEED rating system includes 100 points that can be achieved by meeting the clearly described requirements of various LEED credits. What if a project team implemented a green building strategy that is not covered by any one of these LEED credits, or maybe a project team went above and beyond the requirements of a LEED credit? The LEED rating system includes an innovation category to recognize projects for innovative or exceptional green building strategies and practices. There are six points available under the innovation category. The innovation category recognizes projects in four ways. Innovation, pilot credits, exemplary performance, and LEED Accredited Professional. The first one, innovation, recognizes measurable and impactful innovative green building technologies, programs, and sustainable building practices and strategies.
